State Street - Wild Flower Honey
Good Food Awards 2016 Finalist
As this apiary covers a wide area on the San Francisco peninsula, it is a blend of many different flowering plants and trees, and displays the terroire of the area. You will get a healthy dose of pollen which provides a bit of grittiness. More herbaceous than floral, this honey tastes of dried tea and straw, fresh grass, and lilac.
Coarse strained and never heated, this is a 100% pure wildflower honey harvested from his Redwood City Apiaries.
About the Producer:
Todd Parsons is beekeeper and owner of State Street Honey. He started in 2010 and has quickly ramped up to manage over 50 colonies around the San Francisco Bay Area. The bees roam the large strands of Eucalyptus Trees and collect from wildflowers, berries fruit trees, native scrub and chapparal of the California coast. This is raw honey that is coarse strained, which retains the live enzymes and pollen particles that give honey its nutritional content and subtle flavors.
