A wonderfully balanced chocolate that provides a steady dose of anise flavor beginning-to-end. We never considered ourselves fans of licorice, but this bar has us reconsidering. The anise comes in at the break, and the subtle licorice flavors beautifully balance with the chocolate. In Patric's hands, the black licorice bar was truly a pleasant surprise and a fun must-try.
After months spent creating the perfect house-made black licorice extract, I combined it with organic anise seed and a hint of sea salt, the combination of which is truly eye-opening and tongue-tickling.
About the Producer:
Alan Patric McClure spent 1 year in France enjoying the best foods the country had to offer. During this time, an all-consuming passion for chocolate took hold of him, and soon after he became determined to make his own world-class bars. After several years of daily test batches, tastings and study, Patric was born! Ever Since, he has been driven to create the finest single-origin, blended and flavored chocolate bars imaginable.
