The original land is located at North of Bari, into the cradle of secular olive-groves behind the Adriatic sea where the fertile lands and the mild and sweet-smelling climate of the sea give to the oil particular its organoleptic characteristics.
They are methodical in all facets: pruning the plants, hand picking the olives, pressing the olives within the same picking day, and filtering and packaging done at the family oil-mill headed by Maria's father, Ignazio Caputo.  The adoption of new technologies allows Gran Pregio to obtain even higher quality oils that last longer and have been recognized with several National and International awards and appreciations.
