Bees & Beans - Honey Bar Jr.
Has all the fun and harmony of flavors as its big brother, Honey Reserve Bar, but with small personal size to have as an individual treat. Ingredients are similar but slightly lighter in intensity which really works well in a no guilt treat(well almost no guilt).
In the Mountains of North Georgia, from April until June, bees will travel 2-3 miles from their hives to gather the nectars of Blackberry, Tulip Poplar, and hundreds of other flowers. These wide variety of nectar sources is what gives Wildflower Honey its depth and complexity, just like a fine cabernet. Enjoy this treat with a robust goat cheese or as a glaze on chicken or salmon.
About the Producer:
Faith Dionne believes in real food, small economies, and a sense of place. In her career as a pastry chef she lived and worked all over the United States. Each town has a unique identity experienced through food. Her current landing spot of Portland Oregon has been a paradise of ingredients and she has grown a food community that celebrates locality. Bees & Beans ingredient-driven candy bar line showcases the Portland region; the bars are handmade in small batches featuring a prized local honey, butter, cream, coffee, berries, mint, walnuts and filberts; the chocolate is an artisan domestic bean to bar chocolate; and the packaging is designed with consideration of the environment. These are candy bars that you can feel great about eating. Andrea Marks has recently taken over ownership of Bees and Beans which is easy to take since she has been in the kitchen making the Honey Reserve Bars over the last year. Welcome Andrea!
