This is a well-rounded jam that is a bit mouth puckeringly tart and has good fruitiness. Little pieces of plum are intermixed in a thick jam sauce that has a lighter coloring. The yellow/green Shiro plums combined with the subtle aroma of mint provide a bright fresh flavor that would go great on crepes or a fancy PB&J.
Spoon preserves, more like a traditional jam, have a softer set than the cutting preserves. They are equally at home on toast, dessert, or cheese, and rich with pieces of fruit.
