Good Food Awards 2015
This coastal wildflower honey has a light amber color with a clear and clean look in the bottle. It starts off with a delicate aroma of sweet flowers and leads into a delicious and delicate burst of summer wild flower flavors. This honey has a medium length of 30 seconds or more in the mouth. The combination of tartness with a hint of violet would go perfectly with goat cheese and cracker or green apple.
Mikolich’s Coastal Wildflower Honey recently won a 2015 ‘Good Food Award’ for its exceptional and unique flavor. Made from a variety of coastal wildflowers combined surrounding eucalyptus and avocado trees to create a rich, robust flavor, this award-winning honey is a must for honey-lovers and aficionados alike. This Sample size Bear is great for trying out this award winning honey.
About the Producer:
The Mikolich Family has been in the bee business for nearly 40 years. Alan Mikolich kept bees in his backyard when he was young, and his passion continued to grow until he became an adult working alongside family friends in San Diego, California. In 1985, Alan and his wife Mary decided to go independent. They started their own company while Mary was pregnant with their 3rd child Erika. It was a brave move at the time, but 25 years later she too would join the business. The shift in today's honey industry is rapidly changing the way they approach their business. The Mikolichs pride themselves on making the best quality honey possible. They have a variety of different locations that they harvest honey, ranging from Temecula in the North to San Diego in the South.
