This honey has a huge following in the southern United States, its extra light golden color and distinctively delicate flavor cannot be mistaken. It comes from the Sourwood trees (also called Lily of the Valley Tree) that grow in the mountains of North Georgia. These trees can only grown in very specific environments, and produce a gorgeous honey that is sought after worldwide. With its caramel flavor and hints of buttery maple it goes great on homemade biscuits, or for the tea lover it is great in an exotic Oolong or delicate White Tea.
About the Producer:
Bee Wild is an extension of the family business and a labor of love. It grew out of a longing of its founder, John Wright, to share his roots with an urban audience. John grew up in the stunningly beautiful North Georgia mountains, son to a second generation bee farmer. When John’s Grandfather (the first beekeeper) passed away in 1977, John’s dad decided to go into the honey business full-time, quadrupling the size of the honey house. Now John endeavors to share his and his father’s passion with a wider audience. Lucky for the rest of us!
