This is a medium extra virgin olive oil. The aroma and flavors are very strong. The intensity of the fruit both smelling and tasting are matched with a balanced amount of bitterness and pungency. Lots of herb aroma and flavor.
Aroma - Herbs, Artichoke
Flavor - Herbs, Pepper
Bitterness - Medium
Pungency - Medium
It is peppery, just a tad bitter and has a little bit of a kick, but pretty smooth. In fact, it was so smooth, it even convinced important olive oil tasting judges to name it the Best EVOO in California. Not to brag, but I’m also high in the polyphenols, saving your body from free radicals. Ideal for dipping and drizzling over food with a bit of salt added. Blend includes following olives: Barouni, Koroneiki and Ascolano.
About the Producer:
Dewey Lucero and his family are the founders and owners of Wild Groves, located in the northern California town of Newcastle.
Dewey is the fourth generation of Lucero olive farmers, producers, tasters, and blenders. It’s safe to say he has olive oil running in his blood! At over a century old, his family’s groves in Corning, California are some of the oldest in the country. Their ancient olive trees, as well as the fox family living among them, were the inspiration behind the name of our new brand, as well as the logo.
