This is a balanced medium extra virgin olive oil. The beauty of Frantoio Grove's oil is its rounded character of the bitter elements and the restrained but long lasting pungency. All tasting elements work in harmony to provide a delightful taste. It's a complex oil with a lot of pleasant bitter persistence. The flavors of fresh cut green herbs, grass, and nuts would work well with salad greens or in meals where you want an oil that is not overpowering.

I have spent time with Jeff Martin at picking and milling time, and have seen first hand that he hand picks his olives and mills the newly picked olives within 5 hours of picking. It results in a very fresh and clean tasting oil.
Aromas of fruit, green grass, pepper, fruity green, green pepper, grass and herbs, notes of arugula, herbs and herbs. Taste exhibits mild fruitiness, green grass, some sweetness, bitterness, vigorous pungency, notes of pepper and grass, with exceptional harmony, a high complexity, and a high persistence. This 2019 harvest is a wonderful effort after the 2018 harvest was lost to wind and frost in spring of that year.
About the Producer:
More than 15 years ago, Jeff Martin had a choice to make. His family had been growing grapes in the Yolo/Napa area since 1870 and his mother and brother are currently growing grapes in Sonoma. The obvious choice was to grow grapes, instead he planted olives. In order to find a way to differentiate himself in a crowded market, Jeff was drawn by the Tuscan blends, in the end he chose a single varietal, Frantoio. Jeff's mission is to grow and make exceptional olive oil and sell to his neighbors. After winning several awards, we think his neighbors are the real winners.
